Fred Brothers, chief innovation officer for FIS, has launched a fund called Uprising Capital that will invest in ventures that aim to combat inner city poverty.

Fred Brothers, chief innovation officer of US-based banking technology provider FIS, has founded a new impact investment fund called Uprising Capital.

Uprising will look to fund social enterprises that help fight inner city poverty. It will focus on projects centred on improving housing stability and health, and which provide skills training, job access, mentoring and belief systems.

Brothers will act as Uprising’s president. He has been CIO of FIS since February 2012, prior to which he was the company’s executive vice president of enterprise strategy.
