The BBC reportedly backs the US-based game developer platform and plans to design games and apps using its technology.

BBC Worldwide, part of the UK’s national broadcaster, yesterday reportedly invested in Spaceport.io, a US-based gaming company which allows developers to design games across various platforms.

Terms were undisclosed, although the investment was said to be in the millions, news provider TechCrunch reported yesterday, in an article linked to by Spaceport’s website.

BBC Worldwide would also use Spaceport.io’s technology to design of games and apps, Techcrunch added.
