The top executive at the corporate venturing unit of the chemical maker reportedly says he is considering opening an office on the Chinese mainland, which follows the firm opening in Boston this year.

Germany-based chemicals maker BASF’s corporate venturing unit is reportedly considering opening an office on the Chinese mainland in Beijing or Shanghai.

The head of BASF Venture Capital, Dirk Nachtigal is now going to China twice a year and he has identified universities there as "early stage, high-potential opportunities", Nachtigal said in an interview with news provider Bloomberg on Friday. The fund recently made its first investment in a Chinese fund, Nachtigal added.
