The weight-loss device developer, which has previously secured funding from Allergan and Boston Scientific, has now raised almost $80m altogether.

Baronova, a US-based medical device developer backed by pharmaceutical firm Allergan, completed a $36.5m series D round co-led by private equity firm Delos Capital and venture capital firm Longitude Capital yesterday.

The round, which also included Lumira Capital Partners, Onset Ventures and Sante Ventures, will fund a pivotal study for Baronova’s endoscopically-delivered TransPyloric Shuttle weight-loss device.

Baronova has now raised about $78m in funding since it was founded in 2006, with Allergan leading a $7.5m series B round in 2008…
