Barclays comes back to Cloud9 in $19m round

Barclays led the voice-based trader communication platform's series B round, investing with fellow long-term backers NEX and JP Morgan.

Financial services firm Barclays has led a $14m series B round for US-based financial communications platform developer Cloud9 Technologies that included investment banking firm JPMorgan and financial technology provider NEX Group.

Cloud9 has built a cloud-based voice communication platform for financial traders that is used by both JP Morgan and Barclays. The funding will support the strengthening of the system as well as its international distribution.
