US-based 23andMe, a genetics company backed by Google, raises $50m in Series D funding

23andMe, a personal genetics company, has raised $50m in Series D funding. Entrepreneur and venture capitalist Yuri Milner was joined by return backers Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google,  23andMe Chief Executive Anne Wojcicki, venture capital firms New Enterprise Associates, Google Ventures,the corporate venturing division of search company Google, and  private equity firm MPM Capital.
