US-based Transcriptic, a Google-backed provider of automated scientific services, has raised an additional $2.8m in financing led by IA Ventures.
Transcriptic provides services such as the cloning of DNA and the purification of proteins to customers such as Stanford, Caltech and Harvard. They use automation and robots to make scientific research faster and more affordable.
This new funding adds to the $1.2m raised in their seed round that was led by Google Ventures, who also reinvested in this round. Other investors include Sata Collective, Boost.vc and AME Cloud Ventures. This brings Transcriotic’s total funding to $4.1m.
